Their life flows quietly and outwardly peacefully, and no one even suspects that Hassan has long been whetted by a worm of wounded pride — he is offended that his wife's relatives consider him a loser. Hassan dreams of proving the opposite to them. His dreams are supported by a local French teacher who managed to move to Tashkent and find a prestigious job there at Intourist, One day one of Hassan's patients suggests that he start breeding rabbits.
